When Kelsey and Mike reached out to me with plans for an intimate wedding celebration at The Fitzgerald this past summer, my heart effectively leapt out of my chest! Milwaukee wedding photographers are blessed with an abundance of amazing historical mansions that serve as modern wedding venues & The Fitzgerald wedding venue is no exception. Originally built in 1874 for the Great Lakes Captain Robert Patrick Fitzgerald as his family's private residence, it has since served as the College Women's Club as well as the former wedding venue Villa Filomena. With such rich history and Italian inspired architecture and style, it is an extraordinary Milwaukee venue to host a beautiful wedding. Features such as chic parlors, an exquisite ballroom as well as the lush garden terrace make The Fitzgerald an obvious choice for couples, especially if you are a couple on the hunt for a wedding venue that feels like ITALY! Kelsey and Mike decided to plan their elopement on the fly... it was one of those situations where two people fell in love and knew right away they did not want to have an extended engagement or plan a big wedding. For them, an elopement in Milwaukee at The Fitzgerald was the right decision and I couldn't agree more! Everything came together beautifully... only the couple's closest family and friends made the guest list and the ceremony was set outside in the lush garden courtyard with the historical mansion as the backdrop. The couple exchanged personal vows and rings and went in for the kiss to make it official.
Following the ceremony, we focused on family photos and once that was taken care of, the three of us roamed around the venue for some incredible wedding portraits.
Throughout our time together, I could not help but gush over the love that Kelsey and Mike share. Their interactions were full of flirtation and...let's just be real, they're gorgeous together! Simple elegance was really the MO for these 2.
